About
ASEAN Climate Forum

The ASEAN Climate Forum (ACF) seeks to ensure that climate-related priorities and ASEAN-wide projects are met with continued clarity, momentum and consistency in the region. The need for ASEAN to strengthen governance, mobilise finance, and coordinate implementation towards a just transition is becoming increasingly urgent.

To bridge ambition and commitments to actions and implementation, the high-level panel on ASEAN's climate diplomacy efforts will set the scene for how ASEAN has amplified its climate agenda in the global context. This will then be followed by a panel focused on the future of cross-border climate initiatives in ASEAN and a fireside chat on ASEAN economic community.

Ultimately, ACF aims to:

Promote ASEAN’s thought leadership in climate diplomacy, carbon markets, and energy security

Highlight progress and next steps for cross-border climate initiatives in ASEAN

Promote the Philippines’ ASEAN-BAC Chairmanship in the sustainability space

About ASEAN-BAC

The ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) is the apex private sector body of ASEAN and was established by the ASEAN Heads of State and Government at the 7th ASEAN Summit in November 2001. ASEAN-BAC was set up with the mandate to provide private sector feedback and guidance to boost ASEAN’s efforts towards economic integration. Aside from providing private sector feedback on the implementation of ASEAN economic cooperation, the Council also identifies priority areas for consideration of the ASEAN Leaders. Accordingly, ASEAN-BAC’s activities are primarily focused on reviewing and identifying issues to facilitate and promote economic cooperation and integration

AACM is the first private sector-led body to advocate for cross-border efforts in the areas of carbon market development.
